Encrypting a message

A ZKLine message is encrypted before it is sent. These are the steps, in order.

1. You write

The words start in the message box, on your device. Nothing has been sent yet.

2. The app encrypts

When you send, the app encrypts the message first. The packet that leaves is closed. Your keys stay on the device. They are not placed inside the packet for someone else to use.

3. Peers carry it

Peers forward the encrypted packet. They do not get a readable copy of the message. What they can and cannot see is explained in what a peer can see.

4. You open the reply

The model answers, and that reply comes back encrypted. You open it with the keys already on this device. The answer shows the model name and version you selected.

A short version

Write it. Encrypt it. Let peers carry the closed packet. Open the reply yourself.
